The Ellsworth Meditation Center

The Ellsworth Meditation Center (Vajravidya Downeast) is a Buddhist meditation and study center, with a Tibetan Buddhist influence. Our main focus is on the practice of mindfulness meditation and the study of the Buddha’s teachings - the Buddha Dharma.

Weekly Meditation

Our Story

The Ellsworth Meditation Center was founded in 1990 by Bill and Jane Lawless, under the direction of the Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. Thrangu Rinpoche is one of the most highly regarded living Buddhist scholars, teachers and meditation masters in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
